Everything we build out back

Eight kinds of work, and most jobs are two or three of them at once: a deck with a roof, a screen room with a fireplace, a kitchen under a pavilion.

Which one are you after?

If you know the word for it, pick it below. If you don’t, describe the space on the form and what you want to do in it. At the consultation Darryl will help you work out whether it’s a screen room, a sunroom, a cover or some of each.

Answers

Choosing between them

What is the difference between a sunroom, a screen room and a patio cover?

A patio cover is a roof over open air. A screen room adds screen walls, so it keeps bugs and leaves out but not the cold. A sunroom has glass walls and, built as an all-season room, insulation and heat and air, so it is part of the house year round.

Can one company build the deck, the roof and the room on top?

Yes, and that is most of why people call us for a deck or a patio. We build the floor, the roof and the walls as one design, so the footings and posts are sized for the room that sits on them, and one crew answers for all of it.

Which projects need a permit?

Nearly anything with a roof, a foundation or a raised floor: sunrooms, room additions, screen rooms, attached patio covers, raised decks and detached ADUs. The plans and the permit are part of every job we take on, and they come before any demolition.

Where do I start if I am not sure what I want?

With the free design consultation. Darryl comes to the house, looks at the back of it and the yard, and asks how you want to use the space. Often the answer is a combination, such as a screen room with a fireplace over a new deck, and he draws that.
